Custom Christmas Cards

Warning: Long Post

Three more shopping days left! Scary! I hope everyone is done or almost done with their shopping! We just did gift cards this year, so we were done last week.

Today I wanted to share more Christmas cards I've made. The first one is for a friend of ours. I made FORTY of them! It was tough, since I couldn't use ribbon, flowers or buttons, nothing girly! I clear embossed a Santa image and inked everything with a little gold and of course added glitter for the sentiment. You just have to have glitter on your cards, girl or not. :) I also printed a little Christmas poem that he chose for the inside. I hope he loves them, that was hard work, but I love it!Here's a better shot of the front...
And here's what forty handmade Christmas cards looks like!
Just a word of advice, if you ever make that many, keep it simple! I thought mine was simple but I didn't really take into account all of the inking and matting!

The next one I made for my Granny. I learned my lesson the first time and tried to keep it simple. She only wanted ten so I splurged on the embellishments a little. I punched out snowflakes then covered them in Stickles and put rhinestones from the dollar bin at Michaels. I just love those things, bought them in every color! I also put Stickles all around the edges, the sparklier the better! Plus, my Granny loves glitter too! Then, I heat embossed Merry Christmas on the card with silver embossing powder. Last, I printed a little Christmas greeting inside hers also so she wouldn't have to write inside them.

Knowing me, this will probably be my last post before Christmas, so I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Don't eat TOO much, I know I will!

PS: I lied. When I pulled that last picture off my camera, I found two other little projects I need to write about. So, I will be back, just don't know when! I'm cooking a turkey and dressing on Christmas Eve for Christmas with my mom. I've never cooked either before, so we might just be ordering pizza! Wish me luck!

Merry Christmas to Me!

Last week I was part of a blog hop for MY GRAFICO. They decided to have one for their customers and they gave away a free set and they gave it to ME! I chose one of Pregnant Lady Silhouettes, because I happen to know FIVE pregnant people right now and I'm sure I'll know more! If you would like to win free sets from them they have challenges on their blog every week, so check it out!

Also, I played a game that was part of a blog hop at Gingersnap Creations last week. You had to collect a word from each blog and form a famous art quote with the words. Well, I was going through my spam today and saw that I won that too! I won the 2009 Christmas plate from Hearts in Touch.Isn't beautiful! I just can't wait to get it! Now, I'm off to play the lottery! just kidding!

Chirstmas in a Week!

Aaahhhhhh!!! Man I gotta get movin'! I have been putting off sending my Christmas cards and going Christmas shopping. I don't really even feel like leaving my house! :) Yes I know, shame on me! So, while the baby is sleeping, I'm going to type up a few (or more) blog posts then get to my Christmas cards. My hubby did all of the Christmas shopping for me yesterday! What a wonderful man, so now all I have to do is wrap. Since I was on a gift tag kick this year, everything that isn't a gift card will be going in a gift bag with a lovely tag, which means I'll me making more of those too! Oh well, at least I love to make them, makes everything better! Anyways, on to the card!

Over at Limelight last week, they had a challenge to make a circle card with glitter. Well, I made the card but I didn't have time to enter it, but that's okay! I still needed some inspiration for a card and this turned out so cute! First off, I got to use more Eskimo Kisses paper, I heart it! Then, I also got to use my new box of chipboard embellishments from DCWV! I love these things! I've only made one other card with them but I know I have to use more. I also outlined everything with Stickles and I accented a few things on the paper with my Spica Glitter pen, I heart it too! And, the great thing about this card is you can actually hang in on your tree, which is good because the chipboard makes it want to roll! lol Oops! I'd love to know what you think!

Another Oops!

Here's another creation I made with one of Nina's images! This one was from last week! I made it and had every intention of posting it, then fell asleep watching a movie. Oh well, I still wanted to post it for Nina. I know it's hard work doing all that she does so I want her know that we do appreciate it! :)

The challenge was to use her image and make something besides a card. So I decided I would make a gift bag with a matching tag. I used my snowflake punch and covered them with lavender Stickles and purple rhinestones. My mom loves purple and snowmen so this bag is for her. I also grabbed Helen's gift bag template to make the bag.

Enjoy!

Another Quickie

Updated!

Warning-Long Post Ahead

Sorry, my card was for a contest and I had to get it up before it closed! I wanted to come back and talk about it because I used a few new goodies on it!

First off, it was for the challenge over at There's Magic in the Air! Now, I've told you this before but you REALLY have to check out Nina's blog and NEW store! She shares all of these wonderful digi's with us every week and now you can buy them and tons more at her new store, Paper Cupcakes!!!

This week, well actually last week now, you had to use "Sweet Trouble" and make a card that's clean and simple and easy to mail, oh, and have pink on it. I have a really bad habit of printing the image out on Monday, which is when it available, and coloring it, then I wait until the very last minute to use it. That's why my post was so late! So with a colored digi in one hand and a very wiggly baby in the other I whipped this up, good thing it had to be simple!! :)

I was thrilled to make this card because I finally got to use my new Basic Grey paper! Now, I understand that this paper has been around and I have seen thousands of cards made with it, that's why I wanted it. But, I just sold some cards so I finally had the money to buy it. I'm so happy just have paper people have heard of! You know, when you see a card on a blog that you love and think, "Hey, I own that paper and can make that!" Anyone else do that?? :) So, I used some paper from Eskimo Kisses paper from Basic Grey. I colored it with my Bic markers and I added sparkle with my NEW Spica Glitter pen that I'm also in love with! I punched a couple of snowflakes, covered them with Stickles and I was done! PS: I just bought a set of 12 Copic Markers!! (Sorry, had to brag!) If you want some of these makers but want to save a little cash, check out Ebay! I saved a little money and my sweet husband got to "coach" me on how to bid! Lol!

Check it out!

MyGrafico Blog Hop!

MyGrafico decided they would have a blog hop for their customers and I get to play along! They have tons of stuff and great freebies too! To play along check out the list over at the MyGrafico Challenge Blog. Be sure to leave comments, someone will win a free set! Here's my card I made with a freebie I got from their newsletter. I just had to make something other than a Christmas card! I'll be leaving this for my hubby to find.
I finally got to use my new "toys" on this card too! I flocked my teddy bear and I used Flower Soft on her sweater! I think I need to practice a little more with my flocking but it still looks pretty good. I love this stuff!!! Well, I'm off to hop around before the baby wakes up! Have a great weekend!
